Two second prizes will be awarded each consisting of an all inclusive, private 7 day Caribbean charter aboard Yawl Cat when completed. Market value approximately $20,000 each. Winners must provide transportation to port of call. One drawing will be for second prize in the $500.00 entry. The second drawing will be for those that enter the Charter Only Drawing. The Charter Only Drawing will be limited to 500 entries of $100.00 each.
The purpose of this contest is for fund raising for the restoration of 1932 Herreshoff yawl, hull #1226. All proceeds go to the restoration and it's associated programs. Some funds will also be used for the Sparkman and Stevens re-fit and delivery. All entrance fees will be deposited into an Attorney administered trust/escrow account. In the event that enough entries (500 for grand prize) are not received, by January 1, 2001, at our descretion we will either refund all entries or hold a drawing for 50% of all entries in cash. In this case there will be no charter second prize drawing. Upon selling all chances for raffle, all entrants will be notified, and the drawing will be held 30 days later by an independent firm TBA. Delivery of the yacht will be approxamately six month after the drawing. Title to yacht will be transfered upon a winner being chosen. Winner responsible for all taxes insurance and any registration fees. No one winner may win both 1st second prize. Yacht will be delivered to winners choice of US ports on the eastern seaboard. Yacht can be delivered anywhere in the world for additional fees. Contest is open to all, 18 years and older. Void where prohibited. Yawl Cat ventures has applied for 501(c)3 tax exempt status. Upon approval of 501 (c)3 status entrance fees MAY be tax deductable.
